Would you like to enjoy a free room upgrade for your hotel?
A free room upgrade for your hotel stay is very common and front desk employees often have the authority to give it to you IF YOU DO IT CORRECTLY!
Below are a few common methods to get your free room upgrade.
+ Dress nicely, ask politely and use their name upon check in.
Often the most efficient way is the simplest method: Treat the front desk employees well and as much as possible, they will reciprocate 🙂 Everything is possible unless you take the first step: ASK
+ Check in between 4:45 pm – 6:00 pm
Understand how hotels operate so that you can ask during the right time.
Hotels generally clean their rooms from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Front Desk rush hours are between 8:00 am – 9:30 am & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
No good rooms (not vacant or cleaned yet) will be available if you check in too early. You will only get the last room available if you check in too late. If the Front Desk is too busy, they will not have time to give you a free upgrade.
The key is to choose the right time to visit so that there are a lot of vacant rooms and Front Desk employees have time and attention for you 🙂
+ Tell the Front Desk that you have something to celebrate
If it is an anniversary, birthday, etc., tell the Front Desk! The hotel will try as much as possible to add to the merriment.
+ Be Discreet!!!
Do not ask for an upgrade when there are other guests around. Front Desk employees will NEVER want to have a chain effect where everyone will ask for an upgrade. So, play smart. Ask quietly and if you got it, don’t flaunt it!
+ Ask to see more rooms
If you arrive in your room and you hate it, immediately go to the Front Desk and explain your disappointment (NICELY). Ask for higher floor because higher floors are generally more expensive.
Follow the tips above during your next visit and we wish you success in getting your free room upgrade of your hotel stay!
